Abstract:
riseb. (F. Leguminoseae) is one of the introduced medicinal plants long used as a goat substitute and for washing woolen stuffs, The syrup prepared from the fruit was used for treatment of colds. he areal parts were used for their insecticidal properties. he stem wood is very durable in water, used for oauaea, water troghs and cabinet work.The study has been done to elucidate the character— istios of the Egyptian plant, in order to identify the plant and to investigate its active constituents.PART I — BOTANICAl1 STUDY OF ENT’ROLOBIUM CYCLOCARPUM GRISEB.perI: Macromorphology o±_ Grisb is a tall deciduous tree which reaches up to 20 metresin height and flowers from April to May.Phe stem : is hard, woody, sympodially branched; The greenbranches, have short internodes; surface smooth with numerous pale brown or whitish—brown lenticels.eave : are compound, alternate, bip innate The laniina ic ovoid—oblong, apparently glabrous and smooth; margin, entire; apex mucronate; base, asmetric; petiole, very short;inous distinct. Small circular green nodular projectionspresent on the upper side of the rachis at the base of theis terminal or axillary compound paiiicle; with flowers.wer : is white in colour, zygomorphic, hermaph’odite,acyclic, pediceuate, bracteate.The bract is oblong; green in colour, with hairy‘face.
