Abstract:
Crotalaria is a genus of leguminous plants, many species of which are commonly used in the southern part of the United States as soil—enriching lcgumas. Some Crotalaria species have folmd medicinal use for treatment of certain ailments. While others have received considerable attention in the past five decades due to their content of hepatotoxic pyrrolizidinc bases.There has been a further revival interest in thesealkaloida because of the recent claims about their muta— genic and antiturnour activities.The present thesis was carried out to contribute to the chemical constituents of two Crotalaria species : one is growing widely and commonly in the Egyptian desert C. aegyptiaca Benth. (Natash or N€tsh), the other one is a cultivated ornamental plant g. rnadurnsis H. Wight..The study is divided into :Introduction, Review of Literature and im of Works.
