Study of Gastrin Hormone in Malnutrition

Prior malnutrition is common among infants and children admittedto PD, as evidenced by low weight and reduced levels of plasma proteinson admission. Combined clinical, anthropometric and laboratoryparameters are needed for appropriate nutritional assessment of thesepatients.The relatively high gastrin levels detected in the malnourishedpatients could be considered among the factors responsible for thesechanges; an observation which a waits further studies.
