Abstract:
Computed tomography is a fast, safe, and noninvasive imaging technique. With the help of 2D and 3D reformation techniques and of course a well adjusted scanning protocol consisting of thin collimation, clarification of complex vascular and non vascular anatomy is easily accomplished. Therefore, computed tomography is the modality of choice for the assessment of thoracic emergencies after blunt trauma in the emergency setting.
