Abstract:
Hyponatremia is commonly defined as a serum [Na+]  135 mmol /1; however, this definition may vary across different institutional laboratories. The presence of hyponatremia on admission or early development of hyponatremia is an independent predictor of mortality, and the prognosis worsens with the severity of hyponatremia.Epidemiologic studies about admission hyponatremia in our medical medical intensive care units of zagazig university hospitals and its impact on patients outcome are lacking, therefore,we designed this study to explore this area of research in our ICU
