Abstract:
To evaluate the role of magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonography of wrist and hand in diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.Patients and methods: Thirty patients with rheumatoid arthritis of wrist and hands as defined by The American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism. All patients underwent ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging.MMP-9 is a key player in many physiological and pathological processes such as development, angiogenesis, apoptosis, connective tissue remodeling, wound healing and inflammation, as well as tumor invasion and metastasis. The main role of MMPs in angiogenesis, tumor growth and metastasis is degradative of extracellular matrix (ECM) and release and/or activation of growth factors through their degradative activity. The degradative activity finally results in cancer progression..
