Abstract:
Acquired dysnatremias is a common problem in medical ICU with higher prevalence of hyponatremia (18.5%) compared with hypernatremia (3.5%) and many factors during ICU admission may participate in these acquired dysnatremia in ICU such as presence of fever ,co morbid conditions e.g renal impairment and advanced liver disease ,uncontrolled use of diuretics and, the frequent use hypotonic fluids .Moreover the acquired dysnatremia carry bad impact on the course of original disease, hospital stay and mortality of the patients in ICU.
