Abstract:
Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most common malignancies world wide with an annual occurrence of at least one million new cases. These cases were classified into four groups:First group: Patients included 8 cases. The aim was to study the effect of chemoembolization as neoadjuvant treatment aiming to downstage the tumour size followed by hepatic resection.Second group: Patients included 26 cases. The aim was the study of effect of transarterial chemoembolization as a palliative treatment in management of irresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.Third group: Patients included 20 cases. The aim is to determine the effect of chemoembolization in treatment of recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma.Fourth group: Patients included 12 cases. The aim was to detect the effect of combined transarterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation in managing hepatocellular carcinoma. Most patient in group A had complicationsTACE is a good option for irresectable HCCTACE-RF is used in small HCC
