Longterm Outcome after Tubularized Incised Plate Urethroplasty(TIP) for Proximal Hypospadias

Abstract:
This study is a retrospective study carried out on 20 patients submitted to the tubularized incised plate urethroplasty (TIP) for treatment of proximal hypospadias.ResultsThe total number of chronic complications was six patients (30%). And the commonest complication was meatal stenosis (15%), three cases, one of them needed meatotomy and the other two have been improved by dilatation.one case with meatal stenosis had an anterior fistula. Conclusion Despite these complications TIP has many advantages: It’s a versatile technique that can be easily learned and applied, it has a good cosmetic outcome, the glanular shape and level of the meatus doesn’t affect the outcome and treatment of complications is simple.
