Abstract:
This cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the prevalence of common dermatoses and to study some associating risk factors among preschool children attending at Al- Nakhas family health unit, Zagazig district, Sharkia Governorate.The estimated sample in this study was 222 preschool children. They were selected randomly from the total registered preschool children attending the unit due to any cause. The sample included 142 males and 80 females; 171 children were <3 years and 51 were ≥ 3 years.Parent(s) of the selected children were interviewed and a questionnaire sheet was filled from them including personal data of the child, socio-demographic data of the child and family, environmental data and relevant habits, together with the past and present disease history. Then examination of the skin was done by inspection, and when diagnosis was doubtful or unknown the cases were referred to the dermatologist (in the dermatology department in Zagazig University Hospital) to confirm the diagnosis.The results were tabulated in 13 tables and 3 graphs, and from results, it.
