Abstract:
DHS is the main line in treatment of Intertrochanteric fractures but it mostly occur in patients with poor general condition who cannot undergo general anesthesia or who are not fit for surgery long-term immobilization fracture owing to the risk of decubitus ulcers ,deep venous thrombosis and cardiopulmonary complications The main objective of the treatment is to minimize the complications related to age and immobilization. This can be achieved using external fixation It provide a shorter operative time, fewer blood transfusions, less pain, and a shorter hospital stay than did patients with a fracture fixed with a sliding hip screw.
