Abstract:
The studied population included 90 women who were divided into 3 groups.Group I: 30 women had a malignant ovarian tumor.Group II: 30 women had a benign ovarian tumor.Group III: 30 healthy control women. All patients were subjected to full history, complete physical examination, abdominal & pelvic examination, ultrasonography, laboratory investigation (complete blood picture and C-reactive protein) and histopathological examination of surgically removed tumor then comparison of laboratory results of three groups.RESULTS:There was a statistically significant difference in NLR between malignant, benign and control group, P value (0.000).A statistically significant difference in CRP level between malignant, benign and control group, P value (0.000).A statistically significant difference in platelets between malignant, benign and control group, P value (0.000).A statistically significant difference in CA 125 level between malignant benign and control group, P value (0.008).No significant difference in parity and body mass index in three groups, P value (0.478), (0.336) respectively. There was a positive correlation between the stage of the tumor and NLR, platelet number and C- reactive protein level.
