Study Of Pregnancy Associated Plasma Protein A In Type 2 Diabetic Patients And Its Relationship With Glucose And Lipid Homeostasis

the objective of the present study was to study of pregnancy associated plasma protein a (papp-a) in type 2 diabetes patients and its relationship with glucose and lipid homeostasis. in order to achieve this aim this study was carried out on subjects classified into 3 groups: (group i) is the control group included 20 subjects. (group ii) is the 30 controlled non insulin –dependent diabetic. (group iii) is the 30 uncontrolled non insulin –diabetic patients, all groups were age and sex matched and the cases with pregnancy , malignancy , inflammatory and macro vascular diseases were excluded , the group ii and groupiii differentiate by hba1c cutoff = 7 % the criteria of the (ada , 2010).our results reported that bmi was significantly increased in group of diabetic patients compared to normal non diabetic group. but with no significant difference between controlled type 2dm and uncontrolled type 2dm.also our results show that there was significant lower in dbp in group of diabetic compared to control group and no significant difference in dbp among controlled dm group and uncontrolled dm group.the results of this study revealed that papp-a was significantly lower (p <0.01)in group of controlled type 2dm and group of uncontrolled type 2 dm compared to group of normal control subjects with significantly lower (p <0.01) in group of uncontrolled type 2dm compared to group of controlled type 2dm.
