Abstract:
Fertilizers are natural or artificial substances composed of the chemical elements that enhance plant growth and productivity by adding nutrients to soil, have been used since the earliest days of agriculture. The three major fertilizer elements are nitrogen, phosphours and potassium.Fertilizers can be generally placed into the categories of organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers; Organic fertilizers are naturally occurring compounds, such as peat, manufactured through natural processes such as compasting, or naturally occurring minral deposits. Inorganic fertilizers are manufactured through chemical processes also using naturally occurring deposits, while chemically altering them as concentrated triple super phosphate. Many different physical and chemical forms of commercial fertilizer are available. Fertilizer materials can be solids, liquids, or gases. Each physical form has its own uses and limitations, which provide the basis for selecting the best material for the job.
