Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of regular unprotected intercourse and accounts for one in six couples wishing to start a family. The causes of infertility can be divided into 4 major categories: female factor, male factor, combined factors and unexplained infertility. Female factor infertility can be divided into: ovarian, tubal, pelvic, uterine factor and combined causes. Ovulatory disorders account for about 30% of infertility and include anovulation, luteal phase defect, luteinised unruptured follicle syndrome. Regarding tubal and pelvic disorders, Causes of tubal damage may be infection, endometriosis and complication after surgery. Management of tubal disease includes medical treatment, surgical correction, operative laparoscopy, tubal cannulation, and in-vitro fcrti I ization. 83
