Abstract:
This study was carried upon 40 patients with early breast cancer, their ages ranged between 26-65 years with the mean age 47 years. 39 patients were multiparous and one patient was nulliparous. One patient had positive family history of breast cancer. The studied group was divided into two groups: group I included twenty patients (50%) who underwent modified radical mastectomy or radical conservative breast surgery together with axillary lymph node mapping which means selective axillary dissection, and group II included twenty patients (50%) who underwent modified radical mastectomy or radical conservative breast surgery without performing axillary lymph node mapping which means complete axillary dissection.
