Organ preservation in bladder cancer

Bladder preservation, through a combination of TUR, chemotherapy, partial cystectomy, and XRT, remains a reasonable approach to therapy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer in highly selected patients. Induction with chemotherapy and an aggressive TUR serves as a litmus test to determine suitability for this approach, based on tumour response.
