Relationship between serum β2-Microglobulin level and morbidity in children on regular haemodialysis

In our study, we studied the relationship beween serum β2-Microglobulin and morbidity in children on regular hemodialysis which is represented by several parameters. In our study, we used low-flux membrane. We found that there was a highly significant Positive correlation ( +ve correlation) between serum Beta 2- microglobulin and duration of dialysis.In our study we found that there was a highly significant positive correlation between Beta 2- microglobulin and C-reactive protein, Creatinine and Blood Urea Nitrogen. .We found that there was a highly significant negative correlation between Albumin and Beta 2- microglobulin.In this study, there was No significant Correlation between Beta 2- microglobulin and Calcium , Phosphorus, Parathyroid Hormone, Ferritin and Iron.In our study, there was No significant Correlation between Beta 2- microglobulin , Platelets and Hemoglobin.In this study, there was No significant Correlation between Beta 2- microglobulin and Prothrombin time, Partial thromboplastin time. We found No significant Correlation between Beta 2- microglobulin and Age in the studied group.There was No significant Relation between Beta 2- microglobulin and Blood Pressure in the studied group.In our study, we have one case suffering from Pathologic fractures, it is a type of fracture which can develop in bones weakened by bone cysts. The femoral neck is involved.Another one patient in our study showed clinical manifestations of bone cyst in the humerus.
