Abstract:
The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of recent Quantiferon TB test in comparison to the tuberculin skin test as a new method for screening and rapid diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis and assess the potential role of interferon gamma levels in both sputum and bronchoalverolar lavage in the pulmonary tuberculosis. Our study will evaluate the role of these methods as a rapid and cheap method than the PCR in diagnosis of suspected pulmonary tuberculous patients in our locality.
