ROLE OF HELICAL CT AND ULTRASONOGRAPHY IN DIAGNOSIS OF ANTERIOR ABDOMINAL WALL LESIONS

The anterior abdominal wall extends from the costal margins and xiphoid process superiorly to the iliac crests, pubis and symphysis pubis inferiorly. Awareness of the anatomy of the anterior abdominal wall is important to diagnose different lesionsOur study included 33 patients presented with different abdominal wall lesions (congenital, inflammatory, traumatic, neoplastic, vascular and others). The cases were diagnosed as congenital in one patient .inflammatory lesions in three cases, hematoma in three cases, desmoid in two cases, metastatic lesions in four cases, vascular collaterals in three cases, endometriosis in two cases, different types of hernias in twelve cases, inguinal lymph nodes in two cases and branching fistula in one case.
