Abstract:
the Helicobacter genus includes more than 20 adequatelycharacterized species to date. Based on their preferential site ofcolonization, species of the Helicobacter genus have been divided intogastric and enterohepatic subgroups. Helicobacters in the gastric group,represented by H pylori, have been associated with gastritis and othergastric disorders. Enterohepatic Helicobacter spp., which colonize theintestine & hepatobiliary system, have been linked to chronic hepatic &intestinal diseases.H pylori is the best known and the most important in terms ofglobal impact on human disease, found in more than 50% of human~--~~-~ poplliation. Since the first description of H pylori, infection with this--organism has been considered to be~the most Important eause-of.ulcer.;disease and has been designated as class I carcinogen by the WorldHealth Organization. Helicobacter spp. also detected in patients withcirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
