Abstract:
The nose is the most prominent facial feature. A fracture of the nasal pyramid is the most common facial fracture, requiring less force than that for any other facial bone. The increasing prevalence of this injury presents the plastic surgeon with challenging treatment options.Nasal fractures are responsible for various deformities such as laterorhinal deviations, rhinoscoliosis, saddle-nose, boxer’s or pug nose, and even somewhat extensive loss of tissue. Poorly planned surgical interventions on the nasal framework, including the septum, may lead to Infections and hematomas which are complications that may also cause some of the deformities listed.
