Abstract:
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a new technique in the diagnosis of macular diseases uses a lower coherence interferometry to by giving optical sections in ocular tissues. The principle of OCT by using infrared Diode laser, is based on analysis the time of light delay from optical signals that have been reflected from ocular tissues such as the retina. It has the advantage of being non invasive, non contact, comfortable and well tolerated by the patient. It does not require dye injection or radiation exposure.OCT is better tolerated by patient than either fluorscein angiography or slit lamp biomicroscopy. It is analogous to ultrasound except that optical rather than acoustic reflectivity is measured, it needs no direct contact with cornea or immersion of the eye in liquid. The success of non-surgical treatment for urinary stress incontinence seems to lie in a multimodality treatment regimen, such as a combination of pelvic floor exercise with biofeedback or pharmacological therapy. Committed physicians or therapist are require to reinforce the success of conservative therapy for incontinence with patients understanding the rationale behind the therapy, its non-invasiveness and that they have a realistic approach to the improvement rates. Compliance is best if the patient understands these factors and positive reinforcement is usually constantly required.
