Abstract:
the pedicle screws with its design criteria have proven to be valuable and suitable for the correction of all curve patterns .the results of its use has brought satisfaction to patients, parents and surgeon. After assessment of operative results and following –up our patients, our recommendations are:• Patients must be properly assessed and fully investigated• An accurate preoperative plan should be placed to reduce the loss of time and efforts intraoperatively.• Stability, strength and durability of the implant depend upon the proper selection and assembly of the components.• Special attention should be given to the proximal and distal anchors where there is high incidence of implant failure• The criteria for selection of extent of instrumentation and fusion should be strictly followed to avoid trunk decompensation.• The most important goal is to achieve sagittal and coronal balance.• Selective fusion of major and structural minor curves with preservation of as much as motion segments.• pedicle screw have proven to be valid and suitable for correction of all types of curve patterns•The patient as well as the surgeon satisfaction is of paramount importance.
