study of serum paraoxonase-1 Activity and its Gene poly Morphism in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

this study was carried out at Clinical Pathology and InternalMedicine Departments, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University Hospitals.The study was carried out on 60 subjects classified into: 20apparently healthy subjects as control (Group I), 20 diabetic patientswithout vascular complications (Group 11) and 20 diabetic patients withvascular complications (Group Ill), this group was subclassified into 2subgroups according to the type of vascular complications: Group Iliawhich included 10 patients with microvascular complications and GroupIIIb which included 10 patients with macrovascular complications.All members of this study were subjected to the following:• Thorough hisotry taking and thorough clinical examintion• Routine laboratory investigations included:- Fasting and post prandial blood glucose (FPG, PPPG).- Liver function tests- kidney function tests.- Lipid profile.
