Study of plasma ghrelin level in diabetes mellitus: relation to vascular complications

In conclusion, low plasma ghrelin levels are associated with obesity, diabetes mellitus especially type 2, insulin resistance, poor glycemic control, and diabetic complications especially macrovascular complication, and we recommended further prospective studies to elucidate the possible role of ghrelin in the pathogenesis of diabetic vascular complications.
