Abstract:
The aim of this study is to identify risk factors for cardiovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction and to define a high risk group of patients who need a special strategy of therapy through evaluation of cardiac troponin T on admission and ST- segment resolution at 60 minutes in STEMI patients treated with thrombolytics50 patients with ST -segment elevation acute myocardial infarction under streptokinase administration therapy and the same routine anti-infarction management strategy were followed up for one year. Quantitative cardiac troponin T blood sample on admission, other routine laboratory investigations and serial electrocardiographic data were obtained. Detailed history taking including risk factors e.g.: age, gender, diabetes mellitus, smoking, obesity, hypercholestrelemia, past history of diabetes mellitus and positive family history of sudden death in younger age or similar attacks.
