Abstract:
The transient receptor potential (TRP) superfamily channels consist of a large number of cation channels that are mostly permeable to both monovalent and divalent cations. They are expressed in almost every tissue and play an important role in the regulation of various cell functions .diverse stimuli that include the binding of intracellular and extracellular messengers, changes in temperature, chemical and mechanical stress. Some members of the transient receptor potential (TRP) family respond to natural plant-derived products including mustard oil, menthol and capsaicin .On the light of the previous researches, the present study was designed to determine the contractile effect of some TRP channels on different isolated rabbit intestinal strips an.d to clarify some of the possible underlying mechanisms.
