In conclusion, preterm premature rupture of membranes is important issue in obstetrics. It has many risk factors and different mechanisms that lead to its occurance. It can be diagnosed by history, examination, laboratory studies and ultrasound examination and it has many maternal and fetal complications. It is either treated by conservative management or delivery according to gestational age based approach.
