Abstract:
Aim Of The Study To Identify Recent Modalities In Monitoring Both Diabetic Mother And Her Fetus During Pregnancy, Also To Detect Early Risks And Complications That May Affect The Mother And Her Fetus.Diabetes Mellitus Is A Chronic Disorder Characterized By Abnormalities In The Metabolism Of Carbohydrate, Protein, And Fat. Chronic, Sustained Exposure To These Abnormalities Frequently Is Accompanied By Many Complication.Diabetes And Pregnancy May Be Divided Into Pregestational Diabetes (Women Previously Diagnosed With Type 1 Or Type 2 Diabetes) And Gestational Diabetes Defined As Any Glucose Intolerance Detected During Pregnancy.Criteria Currently Used To Define Gestational Diabetes According To WHO Are One Or More Values Following A 75 G Glucose Load: Fasting Plasma Glucose< 7 MmoI/L And 2-h Glucose< 7.8 MmoI/L.Poorty Controlled Diabetes Before Conception And During The First Trimester Of Pregnancy Can Cause Major Birth Defects And Spontaneous Abortions.While During The Second And Third Trimesters Of Pregnancy Can Result In Excessively Large Babies, Small-For-Gestational Age. Intrauterine Fetal Death, Pretem Newborn, Congenital Malformations, Etc, While Maternal Complications Includes Ketoacidosis, Hypoglycemia, Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension, Polyhydramnios, Retinopathy,Etc.
