Abstract:
vDespite the numerous improvements in the management of AMI, it remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The key steps in the management of these patients include rapid diagnosis, prompt delivery of initial therapeutic agents, immediate reperfusion of STEMI patients, and diligent in-hospital management. Future improvements in each of these categories need to be made if any significant reductions in the morbidity and mortality are to be obtained.Patients with atherosclerosis may undergo a sudden transition from a quiescent phase to a more acute phase when a vulnerable plaque is disrupted. The contents of the plaque are exposed to the blood stream when the cap of the plaque is either ruptured or eroded. Two important processes are set in motion activation of the coagulation cascade and Activation And Aggregation Of Platelets.
