Abstract:
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the developed world. Currently, conventional X-ray mammography and sonography are the techniques most widely used for the detection and localization of breast abnormalities. However, these techniques have limited sensitivity and specificity for detection and diagnosis of breast lesions. As alternative to these techniques, MR mammography has emerged as a viable clinical tool for the detection, diagnosis, staging and management of breast cancer (Pediconi et al., 2005).
