Transvaginal Doppler Uitrasond In Patient With Chronic Pelvic Pain

Abstract:
The aim of this work is to evaluate the role of transvaginal Doppler US in diagnosis of patient with chronic pelvic pain. Thirty female patients were included in this study; their age ranged from 20 to 50 years. they were referred from outpatient clinic of gynecological department to Suez Radiodiagnostic Center from March 2007 to April 2008. All patients were complaining from pelvic pain for at least six mouths duration. All were examined by transabdominal, transvaginal and Color Doppler transvaginal ultrasound. Although this condition is produced by many causes yet still the gynecological ones are the first responsible for this problem as Gynecological lesions were found in 29 cases(96.7%) and non gynecological lesions found in one case (3.3%) which was diagnosed cystitis. Gynecological lesions can be classified according to its incidence into ovarian lesions were found in 16 cases (53.3%), uterine lesions found in 11 cases (36.7%) and vascular lesions found in 2 cases (6.7 %).
