Abstract:
Accurate determination of pulmonary vascular resistance is an important component in the evaluation and treatment of patient with pH+. The current standard for measuring pulmonary vascular resistance is by invasive measurement of flow and pressure in the pulmonary arteries but its invasive nature precludes it from being used in the routine follow up of patients undergoing treatment for pulmonary hypertension. Objective: The aim of our work is to verify the role of flow propagation velocity within the main pulmonary artery using color M-mode in predicting the outcome of pulmonary hypertension after balloon mitral valvotomy.Patients: This study was carried out in Cardiology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University during the period from October 2005 to September 2007. The study included 60 patients
