Laser Resurfacing Of Some Cutaneous Disorders

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy of the 2940-nm Erbium:YAG laser (which is available in our laser unit in Zagazig university) in the treatment of some facial scars (traumatic and Acne scar) especially in our patients with Fitzpatrick skin types III, IV and V.Fifty patients were included in this study, 30 male patients and 20 females. Their ages ranged from 16 to 40 years with different facial scars. The patients were divided in to two groups:Group (I). (Post-traumatic scars): This group included 27 patients (20 males and 7 females), their ages ranged from 16 to 40 years.Group (II). (Post-acne scars): This group included 23 patients (10 males and 13 females), their ages ranged from 18 to 37 years.Laser sessions ranged from 2 to 8 laser sessions in group (I) and 2 to 6 laser sessions in group (II). A laser test dose was done to each patient depending on the patient’s skin type to choose the most effective laser parameters.
