Abstract:
The present study aims to assess aortic root mechanics (distensibility and Stiffness) using transthoracic echocardiography and evaluate their ability to predict the coronary artery lesion location early after acute myocardial infarction. The study included hundred patients admitted to the CCU with acute myocardial infarction based on: clinical history, ECG changes and cardiac enzymes (CPK and CK-MB) elevation, and 20 healthy, age matched individuals as control subjects.
