Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to compare between open and laparoscopic fundoplication. Thirty patients will be divided into two equal groups. The first group will undergo open Nissen fundoplication. The second group will be submitted to laparoscopic fundoplication using the following criteria for comparison:1. Improvement or disimprovement of reflux symptoms namely heartburn, dysphagia, chest pain and gas bloat.2. Remote complications such as incisional hernia.3. Oral intake, hospital stay & costs.4.
