Abstract:
Vascular injuries, arterial and venous, following varicose veins surgery are rare but present a high morbidity rate and very important medico-legal implications. The largest observational studies reported an incidence of major arterial and venous vascular complication ranging between 0.01–0.06%.The most common symptom of venous injury is heavy bleeding in the groin, In some patients with deep venous injury, symptoms are obvious after a few hours to days, with massive swelling of the leg.The most common type of venous injuries is laceration or division of the femoral vein. Partial stripping of the femoral vein is not common and occurred when the strip probe passed into the deep veins through a perforator. In case of venous repair, an end-to-end anastomosis is carried out ,and considered the best solution..
