Abstract:
Background: Although distinct advantages are associated with the use of laser surgery in management of certain benign and malignant diseases of the upper aero digestive tract, these advantages must be weighed against the risks of complications. For the surgeon to use good judgment in the selection and use of lasers in practice, prior experience in laser surgery is necessary. therefore, some type of formal laser education program should be a prerequisite to using this technology. hospitals that offer laser surgery should appoint a laser safety officer and set up a laser safety committee consisting of the laser safety officer, physicians using laser, anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, a hospital administrator, and a biochemical engineer. The purpose of this committee is to develop policies and procedures for the safe use of lasers within the hospital. finally the operating room staff must be educated with regard to laser safety protocol. Objectives: The aim of the work is to summarize the different methods of anesthetic techniques in micro laryngeal surgery
