Abstract:
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition affecting the face. The aetiology of rosacea remains elusive. Many elements have been investigated as pathophysiologic sources of the disease. Categorically, they include endocrine, psychologic, pharmacologic, immunologic, infectious, thermal, and alimentary. Helicobacter pylori has also been incremented to have a role in pathogenesis and severity of rosacea.Different modalities of therapy are available for treatment of rosacea. Combination therapy such as, systemic, topical or laser treatment may give good results. Avoidance of rosacea triggers and cosmetic materials are also important components of a therapeutic plan.Sometimes it is preferred to use topical therapy alone for its good result and minimal side effects. It plays a critical role in the treatment of patients with papulopustular rosacea and erythematotelangiectatic rosacea. The aim of this work was to study and evaluate the efficacy and safety of some lines for treatment of rosacea including: azelaic acid 20% cream, metronidazole 0.75% cream, permethrin 5% cream and single dose of oral ivermectin. Record their side effects and recommend the best of them.
