Abstract:
The aim of the study is to determine the relation between plasma concentration of soluble selectins and the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is one of the most serious complications in pregnancy. the cause of it still unknown but many theories try to explain the pathophysiology of preeclampsia, one of them suggests the role of adhesion molecules in the pathogenesis of pre- eclampsia. Adhesion molecules are important in the development and maintenance of inflammatory and immune responses and leukocyte vessel wall interactions. Three of adhesion exist on the surface of; eukocytes: Immunoglobulin surperfamily, Selectins and Integrins. E Selectin is found increases incases of preeclampsia, this may play a role in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
