Conclusively, critically ill children are highly susceptible to selenium deficiency attributed to the underlying disease or the ICU commonly encountered malnutrition. Selenium deficiency contributed in many directions in worsening of morbidity and mortality of these patients So, we recommend Se supplementation to all patients admitted to ICU and another study will perform to compare the effect of Se supplementation on morbidity and mortality in ICU .
