Abstract:
this study was done to improve our understanding of DA-mediated regulation of GI motility. Hence, it was decided to study the effect of dopamine on gastric emptying in rats and motor activity of gallbladder and small intestine in guinea pigs in a trial to establish the exact influence of dopamine as a neurotransmitter that modulates gastrointestinal motility. Moreover, the types of dopaminergic receptors responsible for this effect will be determined using selective dopamine receptor agonists and antagonists.
