Stydy Of Plasma Ghrelin Level And Nutritional Staus In Chronic Renal Fallure

AIM OF THE WORK:This work was aimed to study the levels of plasma Ghrelin hormone level, serum Growth hormone level and serum Leptin level in a group of patients with chronic renal failure on conservative treatment as well as in a group of ESRD patients on regular hemodialysis and their (hormones) relations to the nutritional status in either group.SUBJECTS&METHODS:A total number of ninety subjects were included in this study and they were classified into three main groups as following. Group I: This group comprised twenty healthy subjects (10 males and 10 females) as control groups. Group II: This group comprised thirty-five patients (20 Males and 15 females) with chronic renal failure patients maintained on conservative treatment. Group III: This group comprised thirty five patients (20 males and 15 females) with end stage renal disease (ESRD)” maintained on regular hemodialysis, three sessions per weak each four hours. All participants were subjected to the following: Full clinical assessment , Routine laboratory investigations, Creatinine clearance which was estimated according to Cockroft and Glat formula, Nutritonal status assessment through Subjective global assessment (SGA) , Specific laboratory investigations inform of Over night fasting plasma ghrelin level, Serum Growth hormone level , Serum leptin level.
