Abstract:
SummaryIOL power calculations were underestimated in patients undergoing cataract extraction following previous myopic Lasik which leads to hyperopic shift. So this study was aimed to find the best formula to evaluate the accuracy of different IOL power calculation following myopic Lasik using SRK II, SRK- T and Holladay formulae.One hundred myopic eyes of 56 patients were included in this study, the patients were 36 females and 20 males, the age ranged from 21 to 50 years, Their spherical equivalent refraction ranged between –2.0D to –12.0D .The patients were divided into two groups according to the spherical equivalent refraction :Group A (mild myopia): spherical equivalent refraction between –2.0 to –6.0 D, it included 29 eyes.Group B (moderate myopia): spherical equivalent refraction between –6.25 to –12.0 D, it included 71 eyes.The patients were subjected to thorough preoperative and postoperative examination including Visual acuity testing, the uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) and the best spectacle corrected visual acuity (BCVA),Cycloplegic refraction at the spectacle plane, Spherical equivalent refraction at the spectacle plane, Spherical equivalent refraction at the corneal plane, Slit lamp biomicroscopy, Fundus examination, IOP measurement , corneal thickness measurement ,Corneal topography and Axial length measurement.
