Abstract:
This study was done for the assessment of pulsed tissue Dopplerimaging during low dose Dobutamine stress echocardiography as aquantitative measure for detection of regional myocardial viability. In ourstudy, patients were selected from patients referred to our cardiologydepartment, Zagazig University Hospitals during the period betweenaugust 2003 to august 2004.This study included 60 individuals, 50 of them suffering fromischemic systolic dysfunction and 10 normal subjects as a control. Theywere classified according to the functional recovery into:I-Group I: Ischemic group include 50 patients suffering from ischemicheart disease with EF :s 50 % which subdivided according to functionalrecovery (improvement of EF > 10% after revascularization) into;• Subgroup A: the viable group; and there number were 39 patients .• Subgroup B: the non viable group; and there number were 11patients.The ischemic group included 46 male (92 %) and 4 female (8 %) withmean age of 51.18 ± 7.16 years.
