Abstract:
This work was aimed to study the relation between thenutritional status and socia-economic condition and there effect onthe morbidity and response to chemotherapy in patients with ALLduring the induction consolidation phase.This work was done in the pediatric department, oncology hematologyunit , Zagazig University hospital on 30 cases ofchildren with acute lymphblastic leukemia.All the patients were subjected to the following:• Full history taking• Complete clinical examination• Complete diagnostic workup in the form of :- Complete blood picture- Bone marrow examination- FAB classification- Liver function test- Renal function test- Basic electrolyte levelWe studied the nutritional status of our patients including theanthropometric measurements and the protein status and itsrelation to the response to chemotherapy also we studied thesocioeconomic status including housing condition , family size ,family income, occupation and education of the parents.
