Summary Neutrophils are the most numerous of the blood leukocytes, they represent the first line of defense against invasion of the body tissues by a variety of microbial pathogens through several function as chemotaxis, phagocytosis and secretion of IL-8. Chemotaxis is the process of directed cell movement under aconcentration gradient of chemotactic agent, while phagocytosis is the process of eating by a cell in which a material is taken into the cell within a part of its plasma membrane. IL-8 is one of the chemokines and its main function is the direction of leukocyte migration, it also promotes keratinocytes proliferation, and has a potent angiogenic effect.Psoriasis is a common hyperproliferative inflammatory disease of the skin.
