Abstract:
This study consisted of 60 patients with OME,. 31· boys and29 girls with age ranged between 4 and 9 years.All studied patients were subjected for:Detailed history taking.Clinical examination (general and E.N.T. examination).Audiological assessment.Pure ton audiometry.Tympanometry.The most aetiological factors were eustachian tubedysfunction and adenoid hypertrophy.The main presenting symptoms were hearing loss (75%),earache (50%), MEF’s were mucoid in (78.3%), serous in (13.3%)and purulent in (8.3%).OME were bilateral in (80%) and unilateral in (20%).
