Abstract:
Summary and conciusion Urinary outlet obstruction due to benign prostanc hyperplasia IS an exceedingly common condmon affecting most of the elderly men. The unpleasant symptoms or this disease are the initiative of an important health, ecoliolilic and socrar proorems. Traditionally, surgery was the definitive treatment; but due to the accompanying pressures on the patient, the surgeons and hospital services, an effective medication to ameliorate the symptoms is looked forward. Many drugs have beet! evaluated by some authors reporting a beneficial effect, wlule others have found them to be ineffective. The aim of this thesis was the evaluation of the use of Permixon as asale, effective and economic treatment for tf.PH. Om’ study was conducted at the Urology Department, Zagazig University Hospitals on I uu patients witn benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) of mild to moderate degrees according to the International Prostate Symptom Score IPSS These patisnts were randomly allocated in two groups according to the treament modality. The first group group Awas treated wnn Permixon at a dose of two tanlets twice daily for a period of 6 months. The second group group B was teared by placebo in the form of Bscomplex tablets of the same dose. Each group was evaluated before treatment, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after initiating the study by clinical examination, laboratory, radiological and urodynamic investigations.
